A model with a beauty contract means an abundance of beauty shots, and such is the case at the moment with Daria. Two new ads from Lancome have been released, and in her four year contract with the French beauty brand, these are my favourites so far. Compared to previous years, the airbrushing is less and there is actually a semblance of Daria in these photos!
I also think that when comparing this to her recent Vogue Russia cover and editorial, I can safely say that I like these shots more. The Vogue Russia editorial was too garish for the simple fact that when Daria is doused in makeup, she simply loses her appeal. photo credits : zhaopian at tFS and Lancome.com
Daria took a cruise this past week, or at least her likeness, at a presentation of Lancomes Declaring Indigo line for beauty bloggers. My blogger friend Monica from Miss at la Playa was there, and there are some new pictures.
New pictures today of a behind the scenes shooting of a new Lancome campaign "Declaring Indigo". Daria is the face of the latest fall makeup collection. I'm still amazed at the excessive amount of photoshop Lancome uses but news is always nice. I've found four images so far, three from behind the scenes (the campaign was shot by Mario Sorrenti) and one from the final cut. I've also found an image for the Lancome Oscillation line - it is for Lancome Oscillation Powerbooster (the last image in the set). Why don't they just call it mascara! I've found a higher quality image of the fall Longchamp campaign. I really love the use of color in these images, and hopefully we will see more soon! Credit goes to pedestrian.tv - they also did a small shout out to the site!
Finally, a new campaign! Daria, along with Kate Moss, is the face of Longchamp Fall Winter 2009. Shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot the ad features high contrasted, richly colored images of the two in front of a group of sailors. Like Mert and Marcus's previous work, the ads are very 80's influenced with strong poses, and the decade defining heavy makeup. This is not the first time that Kate and Daria have worked together. They've been shot either together or for the same campaign numerous times, such as Louis Vuitton, David Yurman, Roberto Cavalli, Versace, and Gloria Vanderbilt (I've included shots in the gallery). However, and I don't know if this is just me, but I never think that the two are properly paired. They are both great models in their own right, but I feel that they have such different and conflicting dynamics. Daria is like the dark horse in this campaign. Hopefully, we will have more than a few pictures in this campaign, and better yet a making of video (I remember Longchamp releasing one for the campaign with French actor Gaspard Ulliel and Moss). For now though, here is a just released image.
The making of video for Lancome Hypnose Senses. I don't know if it's just me, but is there supposed to be any noise in this video? Either way, its beautiful!
Daria is the face of the new Lancome Hypnose Senses, a new take on the Lancome Hypnose perfume. I've found both backstage and final campaign images, with the shooting of as well. The aim is a Parisian mystique. The airbrushing is not quite as bad as it used to be and these shots are quite beautiful and light. Hopefully they will make some type of commercial to go along!
A video has been released on the H&M website, about the backstage making of the SS09 campaign with Daria and Matthew Williamson. They're going for a psychedelic colourful view, which I really like. There are five more videos, with two being released at the end of April, and the rest near the beginning of May. I added some images in the gallery, capped by the darialogist (thank you! - sorry I am too sick to make anything!)
More pictures of the new H&M Spring 2009 campaign. Daria is very (to quote a commenter) Karate Kid. I'm starting to really like these sets of pictures, but I think it's mostly due to the locale. Enjoy!
The second campaign picture has been released and I'm feeling deja vu. It looks similar to Inez & Vinoodh's previous work, an old Vogue Paris editorial and her SS09 Roberto Cavalli ads. However, they are interesting - I love the colours and anything to do with the beach. I hope they make a video like the last couple of seasons!
Some more glimpses of the campaign with Daria. Daria and Matthew Williamson "traveled all the way to Mexico to shoot what could be a studio shot, but the airtime was done for the sunlight on the Mexican beach." Being an environmentalist, I immediately dislike this campaign ... Daria posed on a platform of water also. I'm pretty sure they have water in New York too. Ignore my rant, and enjoy the images of the backstage shoot, courtesty of grazia
Welcome to The Daria Files, a site I started on the beautiful and enigmatic Daria Werbowy. Here you will find a collection of her works and a few musings of my own ... hopefully you will enjoy reading! To add a disclaimer, The Daria Files is not affiliated with Daria - so no, I can't get her to talk to you, and no I am not Daria! Visit The Daria Files Gallery, for a full collection of editorials, candids and magazine scans. I am building up the archive, but hopefully, enjoy what's there!
