The Vogue Nippon cover was posted at theFashionSpot and I am pleasantly surprised. It is quite a departure from Daria's previous cover for January 2009. The styling is more relaxed as is the pose and I think this pertains to Daria style much more. And albeit the fact that the omniprescent "G" is still there, it is not as distracting as January 2009 ... in fact I've become quite used to it! As is habit with Vogue Nippon covergirls, there is no editorial inside, but hopefully a "Making Of" the cover story scan will be posted! Which do you prefer? January 2009 or January 2010?

ETA: Previews of Daria's editorial have been posted at the Fashion Spot here and here ... Without getting ahead of myself, I think that this is the best editorial of the year. I'll post a proper post as soon as I have written something substantial!
A quick post on news from the December issue of Vogue Nippon - Daria has a new editorial! tFS member s'gnac clues us in on the details:
- Daria W by (Inez van) Lamsweede & (Vinoodh) Matadin! She stands in the barley field, sometimes half-naked, and one pic, almost wears nothing, As if she says, "Please catch me in the Rye."(Please note I don't know if it is Rye field or not). Or Vogue version of Field of Dreams?
This sounds amazing! Hopefully there will be scans soon, but now there is an editorial to look forward to for the end of the year!
Also, I've found a larger image of Daria's latest Lancome advertisement from this post and this way, no scans are needed. It really is quite pretty, although her eyes look more hazel than they do blue!

It was not too long ago that we heard news of the Vogue Paris August 2008 issue, but it already feels like a lifetime has passed! I'm not sure about you reading this, but I know that I am anxiously awaiting the dedicated issue to Daria shot solely by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. I've been reading up on Inez and Vinoodh's work aesthetic as well as flipping through some of my old magazines that included collaborations between Daria and the photographers, which has gotten me even more excited. Looking at the cumulated images, I've noticed that Daria has made some of her more impressive editorials with the duo, and as of late has become their muse. There is always a study of sexuality and gender roles in their images and they have captured both ends of the spectrum when it comes to themes and dynamics. For a more visual explanation, I've included a gallery of images shot by Inez and Vinoodh all feauturing Daria. Hopefully, this will hold you off until August.
It seems like the powers that be at Vogue Paris are still carrying on with dedications to models by way of single girl issues. If you remember, this year Lara Stone was solely shot for the cover and insides of Vogue Paris February 2009, and now it seems that Daria will get her own issue too.
Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin are in charge of the August issue, where (supposedly) the entire magazine is dedicated to Daria. According to WWD ...
ONE AND ONLY: The bookers at French Vogue must have had an easier time of late: The fashion title only booked one photographic duo and one model for the forthcoming August issue. Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin were tapped to shoot all the fashion pages for the issue with Daria Werbowy.
This would be Daria's fourth VP cover, and third in less than a year. Very excited ....
The last of the Vogue Paris editorials have been scanned, including the stunning beauty editorial - Esprit Libre. The picture here is my favourite ...
And you can see the scans of the Inez & Vinoodh Game-Girl editorial in hiqh quality here
Thanks to diorette at theFashionSpot for the scans :)
Although the direction of the Game Girl editorial was lost when they made the cover it is quite stunning. Such piercing eyes! And look at those cheekbones. Thanks to diorette for the scan!

More snapshots to complete the Game Girl editorial in Vogue Paris. I find this editorial so refreshing and exciting - it faintly reminds me of Bruce Weber's work, but it's clearly Inez & Vinoodh.
The Vogue Paris May 2009 cover and Game Girl editorial. I am officially enamoured with what I see so far! I can see the reference towards sixties sexploitation films. Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! is what immediately came to mind. I find it so much more exciting than Alt's and Inez & Vinoodh's recent work with Daria. It's so kitsch and over the top - exactly the kind of editorial I love.
Special thanks to berlinrocks at theFashionSpot for the snaps!
Daria is indeed on the new cover of Vogue Paris! A review at theFashionSpot:
The cover feats Daria front shot wearing denim jacket, and khaki ensemble (short + vneck tshirt made brassière), and a besace with fringe on right shoulder. something pretty sexy militarian. she's wearing a long necklace with a shell pendant and two bracelets made of this dark blue stone (never know its name). she's holding the collar of the denim jacket with her right hand and left hand on her hips (i guess you can imagine the pose). smoky eyes and hair waxed in the back ... sunset in the back. the Vogue font is dark blue, the rest of typo is white and blue.
fashion review :
Game Girl by Inez & Vinoodh and Emannuelle Alt, ft. Daria W. (and boys)
14p. colour / 2 double page
"Daria is fighting with boys on the same road I&V shot Lara Stone for V.I. and the latest Balmain campain (I assume !). She's wearing bikinis (leopard, purple tye&die, vichy etc. patterns. matched/unmatched ensemble). She's wearing denim jackets or shorts and cowboy boots. not that bad for a bikini meets denim theme."
Esprit Libre by Ben Hasset and Julia von Boehm, ft. Daria
5p. colour, portraits
Beyond excited to see this! Daria's last cover of Vogue Paris was the August 2008 issue (above)
