We've been getting so many behind the scenes pictures of Daria lately - great to see because it just means more work in the upcoming months! To recap we've seen behind-the-scenes pictures of an upcoming spread in Vogue Espana with Patrick Demarchelier, and Mert Alas and Daria at work in Venice for an editorial in US Vogue. The pics below are also from Daria's work with Mert, taken by an Italian news site.
The pink coat Daria is wearing is from Bottega Veneta pre-fall 2013 so I expect we should see these images in the July or August issue of Vogue, if I'm getting my collections correct. I love the classic hair and Venice is a beautiful place so I'm more than sure these images will be translated beautifully in print.
London based hair stylist Paul Hanlon also posted a picture of him and Daria in London. They've worked together before, mostly editorial work, so hopefully something will come of their meeting! All in all we've got three editorials to look forward to!
"Beyond Daria !! Such a beauty and such a nice person!! Pleasure to work with always !! April 6, 2013"

March 18 2013 - Cass x Daria Looks like Daria and Cass are hanging out again! This time we don't get an editorial from the two but rather a few Instagram pics. Enjoy the candidness below ... and I didn't think Daria could be anymore awesome but then she went and wore red leather pants. Happy Monday everyone!

March 16 2013 - Lancome Colour Design "Star Eyes" Palette I have another Lancome ad to share with you today! It seems we always get these all at once ... not complaning though! This is another ad for the Lancome Colour Design palettes. There are 12 palettes altogether divided into three groups - "Drama Eyes" (from the March 10 post below), "Doll Eyes" and the one below, "Star Eyes". I've added them all to the Lancome 2013 page for you to check out!
Daria is also on the Lancome home page, seeing as these palettes officially launch mid-March (aka right now!). If you're interested in all of the actual palettes then you can check out the Lancome site by clicking on the image below.
credit: Thanks child_in_time @ bellazon.com (Harper's Bazaar US April 2013)! March 12 2013 - Lancome Genifique Eye Light Pearl It looks like another Lancome ad flew under our radar! I stumbled upon a promotional picture for one of Lancome's serums and was 99.9% sure the eyes in the ad were Daria's ...
I held off posting until I found the video spot to accompany the ad and yep it's her! Daria fronts the campaign, for what I'm assuming is the 2012 year, for the Lancome Genifique Eye Light Pearl. Although this product was released as far back as September in Australia it seems like Lancome is really pushing it forward this year. Hopefully you'll see it in print, and enjoy the few seconds or so of Daria in the commercial! Oh, and she's even on the packaging!

March 10 2013 - Lancome Hypnose Drama Eyes Hey guys! Long time no post! Unfortunately something with my website is preventing me from making new posts so even though I've been trying to update the site in a few weeks I haven't been able to! So I guess a compromise is best - I'll just keep this one post updated (with dates) and place all the Daria news here!
We finally have a new Lancome ad! I was actually flipping through magazines at my bookstore today to see if there were any new images for the spring season. I was out of luck but fortunately single_lady at the bellazon.com forums found this! This is for Lancome's Hypnose Drama Eyes palette and mascara.

August 19 2012 - Vogue Paris September 2012 Its been almost half a year since we've seen Daria on the cover of Vogue Paris (a very long intermission for anyone who keeps track) but editrice Emmanuelle Alt has placed Daria, along with her other favourites Lara Stone and Kate Moss, on the cover of the September issue.
The covers, photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot, feature all three models in the same garments and setting and succeed in highlighting all three models' distinct features. For Daria ... I can't get enough of those eyes.
It seems like this trio is a favourite for photographers these days - perhaps a new version of the nineties Trinity of Linda, Christy and Naomi? They've all been photographed by Bruce Weber in that great July 2008 issue of W. But even I'll admit that they have a long way to go before reaching the status of their predeccessors.
Just when I thought Daria would have nothing to do with the September issues this year this small photo proved me wrong. Her editorial work has been really lacking as of late (mostly reprints or work for international Elles) so I was ecstatic to see something, anything to do with Vogue. The photo below is from her photoshoot with Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot for "Bodies of Work" (Vogue April 2011).
Judging solely on this shoddy snapshot this image is rather beautiful, but I'll elaborate more when we get better scans. I'm glad they chose to publish more photos from the Bodies of Work series. It would've been a shame for us to only see one!
Daria makes a surprise appearance in the May 2010 issue of Interview magazine, in a ten page editorial entitled Let's Get Lost.
Let's Get Lost Interview May 2010 Daria Werbowy, Ajak Deng, Oraine Barrett, Raschelle Osbourne, Sedene Blake, David Agbodji, Salieu Jalloh,Armando Cabral, Adesuwa Aigheni, Carmelita Mendes, Manuel Ramos, Kelly Moreira, Rafton Glean,Peter Giang, Dorian Cobb, Lisalla Montenegro and Pablo Contreras by Mikael Jannson
It seems that every time I post there has to be an excuse attached to it, but again I am really sorry for the delayed posts! School is almost over and my university acceptances have gone out so I will hopefully be back to regular posting soon! But for now please bear with me :) And because I can not transition in writing at all - "on to our regular programming ... "
I suppose Jannson and Interview have done their job if they have intended to create an impressive editorial. By impressive editorial I mean one which has set off quite a lot of debates and conversation. If they have tried to achieve anything beyond controversy they have undoubtedly failed. I'll start with the positive - I love when Daria works with Jannson because he always manages to produce slick and sexy editorials. Let's Get Lost is full of colour and shading, chiaroscuro and light intensity. It is enough to please the naked eye but only for a little while. Like myself you probably found yourself glancing in awe at the beautiful scenery and stunning colours, distinctly aware that the setting was a smoky dance bar probably far away in an exotic place ... and then maybe, like myself, you found yourself taking this editorial into deeper thought.
But then the multiple "why" questions arise and you ask yourself how oblivious was a magazine like Interview to put out an editorial like this. To be blunt - why is Daria the only white model? Why are her clothes detailed and rich while the others are in rags? Why is the light hitting her directly while the others are in shadows? Why is Daria so limp and lifeless when she could be just as easily lounging as the others? I could answer every one of these questions with a reasonable "fashion answer" but in real life this entire shoot just comes off as uncomfortable. Its always that foreign concept of a white man in another culture, completely avoiding blending in and instead put on an odd pedestal. This editorial came out a week ago so I feel like I'm beating a dead horse here, but I'd love to hear what other readers think!
Edited to add: behind the scenes video of Let's Get Lost
Daria makes an appearance in the third issue of LOVE magazine in an editorial shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.
Fashion Icons: Body Conscience LOVE Magazine Issue Three Daria Werbowy by Mert and Marcus
Do you like your body? No. Do you love it? Yes! It's a love/hate thing. Your body is a ... ? Tool. A 12-piece Black & Decker set. Would you change it? Ask me when I'm 50. How do you feel about being naked in LOVE? One should always be naked when in love!
Its taken me a while to form an opinion on these images but after much time, sorry for the delayed posting everyone!, I have come to the conclusion that these images are truly gorgeous. There is no doubt in my mind that Daria has the strongest editorial of all in this issue (click here for the others).
I have to say, I am certainly surprised that Daria went along with this editorial. I never would have pictured her as the model willing to do a complete nude but after last years In Love editorial I guess anything is possible. I am also surprised that photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott managed to produce such a spectacular editorial as this. I can't help noting the difference between this editorial and their most recent works with Daria (Point Break and The Deep End) the former being so robotic and devoid of any real tension or expression. But these images are so great in expressing a connection established between subject and photographer, model and lens. The photos are stripped of any embellishments or distractions and an intimate relationship is forged.
Yes, there is a Helmut Newton reference but I don't think that is suffice to describe these images - Mert and Marcus prove that they can truly hold their own. Particularily in the second last shot, which happens to be my favourite of the editorial. It is so abstract and rarely the type of image we see in fashion magazines these days. It is provocative but only in the fact that it is so unexpected - not because of the nudity, which by now is fair game in fashion and such a natural aspect of life. Tom Ford said it best - "With a more natural relationship to nudity, we might also be freed up to find each other a lot more fascinating. There's an equality to being naked; the fewer clothes and accessories a person wears the less you judge them, and the more you notice their truest traits, like their eyes or their charisma, their great hands or their one-of-a-kind hair or, most importantly, their personality and character." It is so true, that this editorial really focuses the viewer on the person rather than the clothing, the setting, the accessories. Its why I am so shocked that a large publication fashion magazine would have the guts to print this! I'm in awe at the level of modeling that Daria projects through this. She truly proves herself capable of anything ... this was a surprise from a publication like LOVE, a surprise from Mert and Marcus but I think that beautiful images such as these have come to be expected of Daria. I can't wait to see if anything tops this in 2010!
It's hard to put in words but the images speak for themselves ... I'd love to hear your opinions though!

Just as I thought this month couldn't be more of a surprise, Daria covers the Spring issue of LOVE magazine. It seems that LOVE, for lack of a better word, loves their multiple covers - Daria, Lara Stone, Kristen McMenamy and newcomer Janeil Williams all have separate covers. With five days left until the release of this issue the possibility of even more cover stars arises.
I'll just address the elephant in the room ... Daria is really giving Lara Stone a run for her money. It seems that she is joining the Dutch model as one of fashions more "revealing" models, in the most literal sense. There is no question that she looks amazing. I can't help but wonder how much of a models awareness is present when shooting nudes. Even the most beautiful girls must have some insecurities and I wonder how each model reacts when shooting something like this. Kristen McMenamy has an interesting take on the whole situation and it provides some insight into what races through a models mind during a shoot such as this.
I like the concept of four different models in an assimilated setting. If anything, it only further illustrates how beauty can transcend many different forms. Lara, Kristen, Janiel and Daria all encompass different beauties, yet they are all alike in the fact that they are strong enough a model to pull this off. Mert and Marcus are the photographers and you can see a definite reference to Helmut Newton in these. Hopefully an editorial will accompany this cover - I'm curious to see how this cover will continue - but for now enjoy this latest piece of Daria news!
